2 soundcards Audigy in the same PC
I installed (from scratch...not an upgrade) Windows XP on the computer, and the Audigy 2 driver install claims the card is not found. To my surprise, when I go to the Creative web site to download the latest driver set, what you can download appears to be only updates, not the actual initial install kit.

Any comments would be appreciated, most of what I saw on google was people bitching about how the Audigy 2 won't work There were some problems with Audigy 2 using some of the older kernels,

I know that Compaq has also developed OEM SB-Live! drivers that I hear are better than Creative's drivers, but I'm not sure if the Compaq drivers will recognize retail SB-Live! cards (without manually manipulating the device signatures in the INF files). The Audigy 2 seems to be a much better card than the SB Live!

"Drivers with the beta changes were the last official ones released." Um, that would be 383 and not 381. No, those drives have NEVER been beta for the Audigy2. In other words, that upgarde seems to me pointed to Audigy (1) and not Audigy 2. Is that the L5 are you talking about? I've downloaded, after the new drivers (AUD2DRVL11021217.exe), one of the upgraded software, too: the "EAX Console" from the Creative site. I've installed both and... guess what?
